Deep-rooted Musqueam values of environmental sustainability and inclusiveness are thoughtfully incorporated into leləm̓, even down to the benches. Musqueam band members were involved in producing these benches, including the original stripping of the log. They’ve been shaped and crafted into the benches by the Salish Environmental Group, a Musqueam member-owned business. Even the shape of the slabs of cedar respect the original tapered stripping of the bark….

#ThingstoDoAtlelem Check out Brent Sparrow Jr.’s ʔəlqsən art installation, meaning “point of land”. His carvings feature a thunderbird, eagle, salmon and sockeye, which represent “symbols of protection and enlightment.” You can see it in person at the UBC Vancouver Campus, just minutes away from leləm̓. leləm̓ is committed to empower Musqueam artists by providing them a platform to express themselves.
