Construction Continues at lelәm̀

NEW SALES CENTRE UNDER CONSTRUCTION

  • Polygon is starting construction of a temporary sales centre for the first phase of development.
  • It will be located on the future daycare lot between the forest park and the Community Centre.
  • Access is from Acadia just south of Road A.
  • Construction will continue through to the end of October.

 

BC HYDRO WORK ON TORONTO ROAD

  • A new underground electrical service is required for the lelәm̀ development.
  • Civil Works will begin next week on Toronto Road between Acadia and Western Parkway.
  • Toronto will be open to local traffic only except for temporary closures.
  • Please watch for detours and Traffic Control Personnel.
  • Works along Toronto are expected to be complete prior to the start of school in September.
  • There will be further work within the boulevard of Western Parkway in September.

 

MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION AND HIGHWAYS RECONSTRUCTION OF UNVERSITY BOULEVARD

  • Eastbound lane is scheduled to be reopened on August 13th.
  • The westbound lane will be closed from the 13th to the 20th for the top lift of asphalt, curbing, line painting, and landscaping.
  • Access is from Acadia just south of Road A.
  • The eastbound lane will then be closed again the week of the 20th for the top lift of asphalt and curbing.

 

ACADIA ROAD

  • The heatwave has delayed the planting along Acadia Road, however, the excavation and filling of the landscape beds has been completed.
  • A top lift of Asphalt will be placed in September.

Construction Continues at lelәm̀

MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION AND HIGHWAYS RECONSTRUCTION OF UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD

  • The westbound lane was reopened ahead of schedule on Friday, July 13th.
  • Westbound is expected to be closed again during the week of August the 13th for the top lift of asphalt and the concrete curbs.
  • Work on the eastbound lanes starting at Western Parkway also commenced on July 13th.
  • The eastbound bicycle lane is also closed.
  • Both eastbound and westbound bus traffic has been diverted.
  • We have been advised that their work schedule for the western portions of Blanca through to lelәm̀ is 7 days a week, 24 hours per day in order for the work to be completed during the summer months.
  • The works from Western Parkway through to Acadia Road will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

 

‘ROAD B’ (JUST SOUTH OF FAIRVIEW ROAD AND ACADIA)

  • Utility works within the road alignment are continuing.
  • Fire hydrant connections adjacent the eastbound lanes along the boulevard are complete.
  • Please note there will be a further increase in truck traffic along Acadia with the closure of the eastbound University Boulevard lane.

 

ACADIA ROAD NORTH OF UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD

  • Landscaping works are underway on BOTH sides of Acadia.
  • Machinery will be on the road and crews will be working along the sidewalk – Please slow down and watch for traffic control personnel.
  • Parking on the east side (lelәm̀ ) of Acadia is for construction staff only.
  • Please note that signs have been posted and any unauthorized parking (pass required) will be towed.

Construction Continues at lelәm̀

SEWER CROSSING OF UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD

  • Work on the crossing of the eastbound lanes and south along Acadia to Toronto has been completed.
  • Restoration works on Acadia between University Boulevard and Toronto will occur over the next week.

 

NEW SERVICE CONNECTIONS

  • The UEL have retained Hall Constructors to install new service connections for the homes along University Boulevard between Acadia and Allison.
  • This work has been completed.

 

MINISTRY OF TRANSPORTATION AND HIGHWAYS RECONSTRUCTION OF UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD

  • The reconstruction of the westbound lanes is progressing and should reach Western Parkway this week.
  • Base pavement has been placed east of the golf course.
  • Westbound lanes should be reopened the week of July 16th.
  • Work on the eastbound lanes starting at Western Parkway will commence the week of July 16th.
  • The eastbound lane will be closed.
  • The eastbound bicycle lane will also be closed.
  • Both eastbound and westbound bus traffic has been diverted.
  • We have been advised, that their work schedule for the western portions from Blanca through to lelǝḿ is 7 days a week, 24 hours per day in order for the work to be completed during the Summer months.
  • The works from Western Parkway through to Acadia Road will occur from 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

  • The sanitary sewer line upgrade has now been completed. Pavement restoration has also been completed.

ACADIA ROAD NORTH OF UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD

  • The sanitary sewer line upgrade has now been completed.
  • Thank you all for your cooperation in taking the detours.
  • Restoration works will continue over the next few weeks along with further cleanup of the road and work areas.

Construction Continues at lelәm̀

ACADIA ROAD, NORTH OF UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD

The sanitary sewer line upgrade has been delayed following a few complications with existing services, however, we expect the line to be completed up to University Boulevard on Thursday.

Thank you for all of your cooperation in taking the detours. Restoration work will continue this Friday as they will be paving the trench, once completed normal traffic patterns should be restored.

 

SEWER CROSSING OF UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD

  • The sanitary sewer crossing of University Boulevard will start on Friday and is expected to take approximately 3 days.
  • Work will continue south on Acadia to complete the upgrade to Toronto Road.

This summer, the ministry is reconstructing the westbound lanes of University Boulevard, as well as the portions of the eastbound lane that were not completed two years ago.

The Ministry of Transportation closure for the reconstruction of the westbound lane beginning at Blanca and continuing to the golf course has commenced. During this time both eastbound and westbound bus traffic will be diverted, and the westbound bicycle lane will also be closed.

  • The MOTI work schedule for the western portions from Blanca through to lelәm̀ is 7 days a week, 24 hours per day, in order to assure the work will be completed before the end of Summer.
  • Work is scheduled from Western Parkway, through to Acadia Road 7:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday to Friday, and 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Notices will be posted and we will continue to include relevant information in our weekly informational emails.

Summer Construction Continues at lelәm̀

ACADIA ROAD, NORTH OF UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD

The sanitary sewer line upgrade will be complete this week up to University Boulevard. Thank you for all of your cooperation in taking the detours. While restoration work will continue in the area over the next few weeks, normal traffic patterns should be restored. See the snapshot below of the work being done in the area.

  • The sanitary sewer crossing of University Boulevard is expected to start June 11th
  • This work will be coordinated with the Ministry of Transportations closure of the Westbound lane.
